  • This little boy wearing the color orange and playing with pumpkins

  • Wearing boots (these are under the non-existent Christmas tree...I want them on my feet!)
  • Halloween - Football game and parties. I am going to be a flapper. :)

Hooray!

I completed all the things on my list!! At least I got SOMETHING done this summer. I wish I were able to cross off summer reading... :/

Back to

School.

My time is no longer being absorbed by "useless" things such as Saved By the Bell, seemingly endless computer hours, naps, lounging, and relaxation.
Its all-go mode from here until May 17th, the day I graduate.
Yikes!
I can already feel the stress building...
I hope I don't explode.

COLORADO

I recently spent three weeks on top of the world in Colorado. It was awesome.
I arrived on the 19th of July only to be greeted the following day by John Mayer, Dave Matthews, and others at the Mile High Music Festival. I got extremely close.
The following picture-less week was spent with old friends from Parker, a suburb of Denver where I used to live.
I then traveled with my friend Michael to spend a week at Rocky Mountain High Adventure Base, a scout camp he was working at for the summer. I hiked, biked, and rafted the surrounding rugged terrain.
After the week was up, my friends Patrick and Wojo joined up with Michael and I as we set off to backpack for six days in the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness. We summited two fourteeners, Mt Columbia and Mt Harvard, and enjoyed the magnificent scenery. After that, I flew home on Southwest Flight 2394 to Kansas City. The End

MARIO!!!!

OHMYGOSH.
So, Jamie and I were pretty excited to see A Chorus Line. We had great second row seats and it was lovely.
All of the actors had incredible dance skills, and the singing was great.
THEN, afterwards we came outside.
It was a total frenzy! Everyone was just lingering about the door, so Jamie made the observation that they were waiting for the cast to come out of the door. So, like every other woman in the audience, we waited.
Then the cast slowly came trickling out. I was able to grab some signatures on my playbill and take a picture with one cast member.
Then, Mario came out. Everyone was screaming their heads off! There were even a couple paparazzi snapping pictures of him. "MARY-O!! " (is that how you say his name now? mary-o? or is it a NY thing?) "How's Screech?" "When's the Saved by the Bell reunion?"
It was hilarious. Afterwards I was starstruck and just in awe.
I felt bad for Mary-o. But I felt even worse for the actors who came out the door after him who didn't get much attention.

NJ/ NYC trip

I recently visited Weehawken, New Jersey to see my sister Jamie and her family. It was so much fun!!
We went into New York city 2 of the 4 days I was there.
We went shopping, ate out, and Jamie and I saw "A Chorus Line".

Here are some pictures capturing the excitement of the trip.

Shakes and fries at the famous Shake Shack.

Wearing Hats

Rocking out on the drums.

Next post devoted solely to A chorus line and our favorite cast member, Mario.

Help me

savor the summer days.

I need a fun, productive project that I could do within a day (if desired) and just give me something to do besides sitting around watching Saved by the Bell by myself.

Comment with ideas please!

My robot friend.

Wall-E.
Such a cutie. I don't usually think robots are cute. But he is the only exception.
Not only is he cute, he helps to rescue civilization from a downward spiral into fatness and reliance on other things.
See it. You might learn something.

upDATE

Seeing as everyone seems to want some of my time these days, I present to you a
Hypothetical (but all too common) situation:
I am somewhere talking to someone when he/she asks me (for whatever reason) a simple:
"Are you available on [month, date]?"
A situation such as this would have left me fumbling around my unorganized brain searching for conflicting activities that I had almost certainly forgotten about.
NOT ANYMORE
I have, my friends, acquired from the local Target one of the greatest investments of my life. It has undoubtedly saved more lives than not, and it has a high-quality vinyl cover. In addition, it fits in my pocket! What is this most recent addition to my back left pocket you ask? It is none other than a Blue Sky™ 2008-2009 Monthly Pocket Planner! It has brought much joy and organization to my life! I highly recommend one.
[actual pocket planner may vary in size, shape, color, and contents]

I am obsessed!

I am crazy about shoes. I get online and the second thing (after checking mail)I do is looking at my favorite shoe websites and drooling over the fantastic shoes.

Some of my faves?

Gladiators

Wedges

Pumps

Oh, if only I didn't spend my money on gum and pajamas.

BOO! :(

You heard right folks, the Coldplay tour that Jared was boasting about is indeed rescheduled due to "production delays". Way to go. All your biggest fans are disappointed.
November 13th is the new date.

I don't know if I can wait that long!
The album (released yesterday) will have to hold my attention until then.

COLDPLAY

On July 9th, 2008 , Kelly, her parents, her brother and sister in-law, and I are going to the Coldplay concert! It will be located at the Sprint Center, downtown KC.

Graduation

I graduated. The ceremony was boring. Pictures were taken immediately after.

There I sat in my chair
Amongst the monotonous crowd
Of black-robed, black-hatted bodies
Each with parents so proud
My name was called
So I walked across the stage
Finally a release
From this high school cage.
This day has finally come
But how will my time now pass?
I shall do nothing at all
but sit around on my...rump

Ashley

I miss my sister. But I am so proud of her! She is working so hard in Canada and I am grateful for her wonderful example to everyone around her. She is a wonderful missionary, sister, and friend. I love Ashley!

A nightmare before bed

As I was getting into bed last night, I went to change the time my alarm clock was set for. As I was pushing the minute button of my ancient clock (I have had it ever since I can remember, and has done a wonderful job of waking me up in the morning), the button just popped in to the inside of the clock! I tried fishing it out with a toothpick, only to change the time on my clock so it is now 18 minutes fast. SHEESH!
Now, my nightmare of learning how to use a different clock has finally become a reality. I need a new clock.

Hmm...

Upon visiting our newly established blog, you may quickly ask yourself, "why am I looking at this blog? How could this possibly add any value whatsoever to my life?" Kelly and I, as the main subjects of this blog, will be quick to respond to these queries. First of all, why wouldn't you want to be looking at our amazing (but still a work in progress) blog? Everyone knows that awesomeness (Kelly) plus awesomeness (Jared) can only beget even more awesomeness. The account of our lives is more exciting and entertaining than, well, everything (except a short list of rather interesting things from the Discovery Channel to gnomes). It has also been proven by a doctor (whose name shall remain omitted for security reasons) that at least a daily visit to the blog of a friend, loved one, etc. can drastically improve one's health. In fact, those who sit at the computer blogging for more than three hours per day are 2,368.42586 times more likely to NOT get injured in a car accident, die while rollerblading, or a creative combination of the two.
So there you have it. Visiting this blog is, in fact, one the most advantageous things that you can do. "Quality entertainment and a lesser chance of death? Where do I sign up?" Well I have news for you: you don't sign up. It's all right here. For you. No applications*. No long term contracts*. No interest charged*. All of this is totally and completely free*. No hidden strings or footnotes that are only meant to mislead*. Enjoy.
